What happened
On April 12, 2024, Zest Protocol on Stacks was exploited during its public launch via collateral list manipulation. An attacker repeated collateral entries to artificially inflate their perceived collateral value, borrowed well beyond their actual holdings, and removed 322K STX (approximately $1M). Zest paused contracts, offered a $100K bounty, and promised treasury-backed reimbursement.
