What happened
A misconfiguration in Acala's iBTC/aUSD liquidity pool (deployed August 14, 2022) allowed minting of 1.28 billion unbacked aUSD tokens. The network halted swaps, burned the tokens, and limited realized losses to ~$1.6M despite the massive depeg.
