What happened
On February 16-18, 2024, FixedFloat (non-KYC exchange) was compromised and ~$26.1M in Bitcoin and Ether were stolen: 409.304 BTC and 1,728.48 ETH. Private keys controlling hot wallets on both networks were compromised. Initially suspected as insider attack or rug pull, the team claimed external attackers exploited infrastructure vulnerabilities. Ethereum funds moved through eXch exchange; Bitcoin funds dispersed across addresses.
