What happened
On August 13, 2024, Vowcurrency Protocol on Ethereum was exploited for approximately $1.2M when the usdRateSetter address changed the VOW/vUSD exchange rate from 1 to 100 without atomic validation. In the 15-30 second window, a bot minted $2 billion in vUSD using exploited rates and swapped 26.1M VOW for 175.4778 ETH and 595,970 USDT.
