What happened
On October 9, 2025, Astera's lending markets on Linea were exploited through a liquidity-index inflation attack. The attacker inflated the index to overvalue their collateral, then borrowed across asUSD, LINEA, and WETH minipools for ~8% of the protocol's TVL. Linea's security team detected the pattern and froze the attack within minutes.
