What happened
On September 23 at 21:14 UTC, an attacker exploited a block-validation flaw on Meter mainnet that allowed unbacked MTR and MTRG to be created. The attacker dumped the counterfeit assets through DEXs and bridged proceeds out of Meter. Meter paused both mainnet and its bridge and warned that transactions after block 100731417 may not be honored. The team preserved chain state and is determining a recovery method
