What happened
Hackers compromised Phantom Galaxies' Discord server using malware that bypassed 2FA on admin accounts. Attackers created a fake NFT minting page charging 0.1 ETH as a 'minting fee' that directed funds to their wallet. In three hours, fraudsters stole 265 ETH before Animoca Brands discovered and halted the scam, later covering all losses.
