What happened
On September 20, 2024 OcelotDex (a DEX gateway on Zetachain) suffered an infinite mint exploit draining $4.9 million when attackers exploited a vulnerability in the smart contract minting functionality that failed to enforce supply caps, creating unbounded tokens to flood the market and exchange for stable assets.
