What happened
On June 25, 2025, Silo Finance lost $546,000 when an experimental leverage contract was mistakenly deployed to mainnet. Attacker exploited unchecked borrow() return values, using a malicious token (MalCoin) that reported constant balance=1 to drain ETH without repaying.
