What happened
Cryptsy announced on July 29, 2014 that an attacker under the nickname Lucky7Coin had inserted Trojan code into the exchange's systems, stealing 13,000 BTC and 300,000 LTC. Though later evidence suggested CEO Paul Vernon may have conducted internal theft and misattributed it, the reported mechanism involved compromised private keys.
