What happened
On March 26, 2024 Munchables (gaming NFT project on Blast layer-2) suffered a $62.5 million exploit by a rogue developer (pseudonym 'Werewolves0943') hired to write the smart contracts who deliberately built in vulnerabilities, using control of the upgradeable proxy to assign themselves 1 million ETH and drain the protocol.
