What happened

Bitcoin Gold suffered two 51% attacks on January 23-24, 2020, resulting in 29 blocks being reorganized and deep chain reorgs that enabled double-spending attacks. Attackers rented hash power from NiceHash for ~$1,200 per attack and successfully double-spent approximately 7,167 BTG (~$70K) across two separate attacks. Binance adjusted its confirmation requirements after the incident.
