What happened
Sixteen wallets associated with KITE Foundation were drained simultaneously in a coordinated private-key compromise. The transfers were ordinary ERC-20 transfer() calls authorized by the affected wallets rather than an exploit of the KITE token contract. KITE Foundation subsequently paused Ethereum KITE transfers and cross-chain bridges, then deployed a replacement ERC-20 and migrated legitimate balances 1:1 from a pre-incident snapshot while excluding attacker-controlled addresses
