What happened
On May 16-24, 2018, Bitcoin Gold suffered a 51% attack in which attackers stole approximately 388,000 BTG (~$18M) through double-spend transactions targeting cryptocurrency exchanges. The attacker sent coins to exchanges, sold them for other assets, then reversed the initial transactions to reclaim funds.
