What happened
On June 20, 2026, Ethereum's prominent MEV bot JaredFromSubway.eth was drained of $7.5M+ in WETH, USDC, and USDT when an attacker deployed 66 fake token contracts as profitable MEV opportunities. The bot automatically granted large spending approvals to malicious contracts over weeks, which were then swept in a coordinated transaction and laundered through Tornado Cash.
